Kenya: national data show 18% fewer births in 2022 than the UN, yet 4% more children per woman
National figures: 1.22M births and 3.4 children per woman; the UN: 1.48M and 3.26. Kenya does not register every birth and measures children per woman with a household survey (KDHS) covering the three preceding years. The UN combines both in one model, so the gaps point in opposite directions.

The UN estimate and the national publication are shown separately. Even the direction of the difference changes between the number of births and children per woman.
The bars are national values relative to the UN estimate for the same year, in percent. Zero is agreement with the UN, not zero births.
