Tunisia: from 4.36 to 2.49 children per woman in just 10 years
From 1986 to 1996 the number of children per woman fell faster than in any other decade since 1950. Around that period: urban share 54.3% → 62.1% (1986–1996); women’s university enrolment 3.9% → 11.1% (1986–1996); life expectancy 67.4 years → 71.2 years (1986–1996). This does not establish a cause.
