Yemen: from 8.46 to 6.14 children per woman in just 10 years

    05195020231990

From 1991 to 2001 the number of children per woman fell faster than in any other decade since 1950. Around that period: urban share 21% → 27.1% (1991–2001); women’s university enrolment 1.4% → 4.6% (1992–2002); life expectancy 58.8 years → 63.3 years (1991–2001). This does not establish a cause.
