Laos: from 5.80 to 4.02 children per woman in just 10 years
From 1993 to 2003 the number of children per woman fell faster than in any other decade since 1950. Around that period: urban share 16.3% → 25.6% (1993–2003); life expectancy 55.6 years → 59.6 years (1993–2003). This does not establish a cause.
