Cuba: from 4.12 to 1.77 children per woman in just 10 years
From 1969 to 1979 the number of children per woman fell faster than in any other decade since 1950. Around that period: urban share 59.9% → 67.7% (1969–1979); women’s university enrolment 2.9% → 14.2% (1971–1979); life expectancy 67.4 years → 72.3 years (1969–1979). This does not establish a cause.
