Costa Rica: from 6.39 to 3.99 children per woman in just 10 years
From 1963 to 1973 the number of children per woman fell faster than in any other decade since 1950. Around that period: urban share 34.5% → 40.7% (1963–1973); life expectancy 64.3 years → 68.7 years (1963–1973). This does not establish a cause.
